The intention of Week 1 is to introduce the class to Green Belt
Certification, Six Sigma Goals, Lean
and DFSS.
Saturday
The class starts off with a review of the syllabus and an introduction of
the instructor.
Next, the class reviews; the Introduction presentation, Section I- Certification Overview and starts Section II-
Six Sigma Goals.
Homework is to read Section I, II, and III and review the questions at the
end of each section on the green sheets. Homework #1 is to pick a project, complete
a project charter for your project, and send a copy of your project charter to
me by Tuesday 1/18. (see Section V- page 2 thru 7) Study for Test 1.

The class finishes Section II- Six Sigma Goals and covers Section III- Lean and DFSS. Any time remaining can be used to work
on and discuss your project charter and
presentation for next week.
Test 1 is take home. Due 8am Saturday 1/22.
Homework is to read Section IV, V and VI and review the
questions at the end of each section on the green sheets.
Homework #2 is to present your project charter at the next class
meeting.
Homework #3 is to research a quality pioneer (such as those listed in Section II).
Type a one page, professionally formatted paper about the person and state your resources. Due 8am
Sunday 1/23.
